The Business Festival, which has become a significant networking event for marketing, sales, and management, will be held in Kalajoki on Thursday, May 16. SwanIT's CEO, Tuulia Virhiä will be speaking there.
You can find out more on the Business Festival website.
Our CEO, Tuulia Virhiä, founded SwanIT to demonstrate that demanding IT solutions and processes can be achieved sustainably and better than ever.
She is delivering this same message at the closing event of the Business Festival's spring tour in Kalajoki.
Our responsibility in this IT has been completely forgotten. We often view our laptops and smartphones as cool gadgets – and we constantly crave new ones. Here in the West, the three-year leasing model system has brainwashed us, because in our mindset, those devices no longer work after a certain period.
Yes, those devices work because they want to be sold, so they always have that second life cycle. But we should use up that life cycle ourselves here and then recycle it properly.
Below is the Business Festival's introductory text about Tuulia:
How to act more responsibly in a digitalized world?
We've all heard about conflict minerals, EU sustainability reporting, climate change, accountability, and AI.
Come and hear at the Kalajoki Business Festival on May 16th what this has to do with your laptop and phone usage, and how we could better fulfill our human responsibilities.
Tuulia Virhiä, who has had a long career as a speaker in developing countries and Europe, founded SwanIT in 2017 to transform IT services to meet today's demands responsibly, technically, and economically.
Who is Tuulia Virhiä?
A tireless promoter of responsible IT for 15 years — someone would have given up on a mission that was too big, but not Tuuli.
Founder of SwanIT Oy since 2017. Because there were no responsible IT people in the world, the company had to be founded and started from scratch.
A world traveler's endless passion for making things better. Almost a decade of experience in IT projects in developing countries opened eyes that can no longer be closed.
